Shellirae Farm | Welcome to Shellirae Farm!

Welcome to Shellirae Farm.

Shellirae Farm started in December of 2010 with Shelly purchasing a Nubian buckling. Because Shelly decided to get into goats, Carl was beaten into submission with the idea. 5 years later, we feel like we’ve improved our herd immensely, even after starting with fresh genetics in 2013.

In 2014, Our homebred doeling, Shellirae’s Fruitcakes was Best Junior Doe in Show at the Houston Livestock Show. Her paternal sister, Shellirae’s My Lovely Lady, was Junior Reserve Grand Champion. Later in the spring, Shellirae’s My Lovely Lady was Junior Grand Champion at the April Showers Dairy Goat Show in Corsicana, TX. Junior Alpine, Shellirae’s Filet Mignon was also Grand Champion AOP. Later that month, Lady’s litter mate, Shellirae’s Tampico Trauma, was Best Junior Doe in Show at the Cibolo Classic in Decatur, TX. At the same show, in the other ring, Shellirae’s Caviar was Best Junior Doe in Show.

In 2015, we only attended a couple of shows, but took Reserve Grand Champion for both Juniors and Seniors with Miabella N/D Mademoiselle (87VVVV) and Shellirae’s Candied Apple at the Houston Livestock Show.  At the Memorial Classic in Brenham, TX, Shellirae’s Royal Sweet Pea was Junior Reserve Grand Champion.

We have downsized our herd quite a bit and made some buck acquisitions in 2015. Tim Pruitt and Fran Sharp were gracious to allow CH Pruittville’s Apollo and his son, Pruittville’s A/L Pioneer to join our herd. We also purchased Heritage Oaks Blessin’s Loki from Gil Rogers. 2015 saw an AI success with Pruittville’s V/P Carlina giving birth to triplet does sired by Kastdemur’s Next Key; semen which we purchased from Caroline Lawson at TLC-Farms.
